About the electicity poles, in Sweden, there are almost none, we run them underground, well excluded the really high powered ones.

Another easy one that can be useful is the sun to figure out if you are in northern vs. southern hemisphere. Great list and video :)

The sun!

If you're on a challenge with no clouds, look east or west. If the If the sun appears to be in the north, you're in the southern hemisphere. If the sun appears in the sun appears in the south, you're in the northern hemisphere.

if the sun is at a lower north-south angle, you're further from the equator. This is a very simple method and I'm surprised it's not shared more.

Today I sussessfully identified a place in GeoGuessr to be in central Chile. Here are the things I noticed and my deductions:
1. The road signs are in Spanish. this cuts down the range to Spain and Latin America. (All Spanish-speaking countries drive on the right, so that doesn't help very much.)
2. The mountains are barren, with a yellowish hue on it. Although I've never been to Chile, those mountains look somehow similar to the ones in California, which is characteristic of mediterranean climate. This further cuts down the range to northern Baja in Mexico, central Chile and Spain.
3. The sun is in the northern half of the sky, which means this is the southern hemisphere. this leaves us with only one option: central Chile.

I don't see it mentioned: Mini TV dishes ALWAYS face the equator. Only helpful without a compass, or for re-assurance. TV satellites are geosynchronous, so have to be orbiting the equator.

I think you recognizing the google cars layout is hilarious and impressive. I dont see a reason why it wouldnt be a valid clue.

A tip not mentioned regarding the Netherlands and the Flemish part of Belgium is the frequent use of the ij digraph. In Dutch the ij combination (as in Nijmegen, Mijdrecht) is considered as a single letter being relative simular with the Y. If the ij digraph is used as a capital letter then are both (i and j) capitalized as by example as the first letter of a name like IJmuiden, IJsselmeer, IJzerstraat.

Make sure to check the sun, bollards and grass/trees. Also some more region specific tips, Northern Montenegro has what looks like a rift in the sky, the Yucutan peninsula has alot of stone walls, and Eswatini has this type of long dry grass everywhere along with patches of trees in the West. Hope I helped!

Great video, I'm going to watch the second part of this immediately. I only discovered this game about 4 or 5 months ago but I've fallen in love with it so much, I decided to start making my own videos playing it. Thanks so much for these tips!

Tbh the best thing you can do is develop your own meta. It can really come in handy. Here's mine so far:

Nice landscape and red houses = Norway
Medium-developed african country with WAY too many mentions of christianity = Nigeria
German-looking signage but fancier = Austria
Cambodian/Indian looking language but really circly = Sri Lanka
South America + flat +christian = Argentina
South America + flat +christian + actual towns = Uruguay
Israel but better = Jordan
Under pass highways/ vaguely russian writing = Kyrgyz Republic

EVERY ROUND = ESWATINI

Also the languages:
Úttaszahagymálembek = Hungary
Ułydwiszce = Poland
Uürāev = Estonia
Üürellina = Finland
Üredeçehir = Turkey
Usadječe = Slovenia or idk literally anywhere

Something I've been meaning to do is learn phone number formats, particularly in countries with similar languages like South America or Baltics/Cyrillic countries.

there's helpful Wikipedia articles "Comparison of traffic signs in English-speaking territories" "Comparison of MUTCD-influenced traffic signs" "Comparison of European signs"
