Rebuilding A TOTALED Twin Turbo Corvette!

Показать описание

When I unexpectedly found a Steve Morris built 7 liter LSX in a Vette that I picked up from the salvage auction, I got the bright idea to see if we can add a couple Garrett turbos and push it to 1500hp, leaving the engine itself exactly as it came from auction!

The goal is to build an 8 second, monster Corvette on 'somewhat' of a budget!

This episode we get the chassis is proper shape to install our new (used) engine, and build ourselves a complete Turbo kit!

Check out the whole ScrapLife Family!

Have a wild Vette build story of your own? Maybe you've bought a totaled Z06 or ZR1 to turn into your dream car? Be sure to tell the story in the comments!

I'm urprised you don't have a million subscribers yet, one of the best rebuild/car channels on YouTube.

you guys make a 37 min video feel so short, the way you talk is so knowledgeable and makes a video about working on cars so entertaining

Why are you running your chilled water, through the heat exchanger first, basically heating it up before it runs through the intercooler? Maybe you said it backwards?

Hey buddy, at 18:05, you route your cold water from the tank to the front mounted heat Aren't you supposed to route the cold water directly to the intercooler and then to the front mount heat exchanger?? This would cool the water before sending it back to the cold water tank (would keep the ice a bit longer).

32:10 glad to see you mounted the Holden pump down under. Or I guess with the rear location, it’s in the outback.

You should have used the passenger tank for better weight distribution, then mounted the pre-filter and pump in the cavity where the crossover tube originally was.

I realize he’s been there for a while now, but I gotta say that adding Tim to the crew was a great addition.

Cant wait until their first drive! Then we can see what breaks, leaks or blows up.... just like every build. This is why I love this channel, they don't hide the "bad times" from us.

Suggestion. Get a damaged hood. Peel off the top metal. Put a sheet of aluminium on top. Cut out an insert for the stack. Then clearcoat the polished aluminium. It will look like a million dollars.

The only builds I ever watch are these not those 10 minute videos where they do like one thing and it takes a year

I’m not sure if you really want a heat exchanger on an ice tank car. When you go to ice the car down. The heat exchanger will increase air temps when the hotter air is warming the cold water when it blows through it. Seems counterintuitive. Just run the ice water straight through and back to the tank. Or run the heat exchanger after the intercooler to reduce used intake temps.

Should the intercooler line go to the intake first then to the heat exchanger then back to tank?

Seriously the way you talk us through things makes me feel like I actually kind of understand what you're saying, even though the most complicated thing I've ever done on a car was replace the idler pulley and serpentine belt. I bought a c6 and I've been learning a lot about it and your videos are awesome to watch as I try to understand more about my specific car. So many other channels don't explain it nearly as well as you have these past few videos so thanks man

Just found this channel and Lee is awesome. He had to have grown up watching Horsepower and Hot Rod Tv as his style is the same from back in the day. Joe Elmore (RIP) and Chuck Hansen gotta be proud. Great content and thanks for keeping it clean from what I’ve seen so far.

Lee, my friend works for LG here in north Texas and they have a rear mount C6 radiator setup they sell. Developed it on a friend’s Turbo C6
