The things that haunt me about 9/11: why did first respondors persist in entering a building with over 50/50% chance of collapse? adding to the already high number of deaths. And, if they buildings were built with less safety measures in order to have each floor with space - a football field size - like bamboo huts - Japanese architect design. People knew those buildings were not safe. I can understand why the backlash defence talk that "no one knew" the buildings would fall after large jets slammed into them. No one knew is not a defence. Lives matter. Those poor souls trapped. Your excuses do not add up. No way would I be a "hero" knowing as those men knew, that they were climbing to their deaths. They knew. No amount of pride in my job is worth walking into death. No way. I am out of there. No way Jose. Out. Refuse to enter a doomed building. Let them criticize me Let them call me coward. My life over your pride, your need for a hero. Better a living coward than a dead hero. In this situation you would not have been a coward. Just say NO.
