Garmin Fenix 7 Review: New Fenix 7X tested by 3 runners

The Garmin Fenix 7 has been officially unveiled and The Run Testers team has been fortunate to get some running time in with Garmin's next generation outdoor watch.

The new Fenix promises a range of improvements including bigger battery life, more accurate outdoor tracking, new design materials and running-focused features.

Kieran, Mike and Nick have all been spending running time with the Fenix 7X from the new 7 Series to see what it's made of and whether this is the ultimate watch to track your runs.

Totally disagree about the flashlight. The flashlight on the 7x is a really cool feature and is very helpful when running early in the morning, or finishing a run later at night. Also, you dont need to hold it like one of the guys mentions. It's awesome on the wrist while running and is equal to the light on the iPhone ... for me - it was a feature that I initally didn’t appericate - but now LOVE.

A huge flaw in the Fenix 6x Sapphire I own is the pace accuracy during running. It sometimes just drops without any reason to something like a minute per km slower than I am actually running. Also a common topic in Garmin boards... Is there anything you can say about improvements the Fenix 7x has on this behalf?

Can you also review Garmin 945 LTE? I think it's a way better option for a runner than any Fenix watch.

Not sure if this was a software update since your review - but you CAN long press the glances (such as weather) from the watch face to pull up the full screen info

do you think that the advantages of 7 sapphire are able to counteract the large deficit of visibility? I notice that the visibility of the gorilla glass is much higher. what do you think about it?

Great review. Been looking for a new upgrade Smartwatch and waiting for the Fenix 7 for the last year. My initial impress is I'm disappointed. No upgrade on the display even in one model to AMOLED. Only a couple of new features and not much of an upgrade over the Fenix 6 given the extra cost.

Thank you for the video. Did you find that there was any difference in the GPS coverage when comparing the 7 with the 7 Sapphire model? The Sapphire model has the multi frequency tracking which the "regular" 7 lacks.

I'm stuck between 2 models, epix and fenix 7x, but since the epix screen is amoled, there is a possibility that it will burn on the screen after 2 years and if this happens, it will be very annoying, so I'm undecided.

Still no decent a/r coating on the most expensive Garmin. Instead, annoying reflections as known from the 6x. I own an a/r coated sapphire watch, you hardly can tell if there is any watchglass. I really would like that on a Fenix!!

Why on all reviews the standard garmin 7 is all black but on the website the standard 47mm is silver face

No stock anywhere in the UK except Garmin online with a delivery time of 2-3 underwhelming as far as announcements go.
