The first time I watched someone talk about safety in China, I didn't really get it. I don't have the concept of safety because I am Chinese and live in a small town in Connecticut, USA. Later, I finally got the meaning of SAFETY after I visited San Fransisco.

You took the words right out of my mouth... Freedom you get from low crime is a human right in China.

You're telling my own story! 13+ years here, plus 5 years of commuting from Los Angeles 4 times a year. I live in Guangdong, Zhongshan City. It's a good life.

If you were a BBC reporter, all those trees and plants would be grey rather than green!

Totally agree with everything you said. Living in Shanghai now 17 years, previously about 5 years visiting China until I decided to make the move. So happy to have my child being educated here, in the public system. Your right about newbies complaining, I simply say to them, its not wrong, its just different, embrace it. I was told before moving here a couple of points, it takes about 5 years to get in tune with the culture and to catch all the flu and cold viruses you have not been exposed to, both were correct. The bulk of my friends here now are locals, they are such great fun to be around, Chinese certainly have a great sense of humor. Life is good.

The whole length of this video showing all the outside areas I have not seen any trash on the floors. And everywhere is so green with all the trees.

I discovered China a few days ago for myself after my wife and I watched a wonderful Chinese film. Since then I've been in a positive rabbit hole about China and am more and more impressed by this country. Your honest video reinforces my positive impression and encourages me to consider a stay in China.

Enjoyed this upbeat video and agree with all the points. Returning to UK after a year in China, it feels like a shabby uncomfortable world, although I'm lucky enough to live in a reasonably quiet place, but the news and politics is depressing.

I like your attitude. You're essentially in someone's house and you're not interested in trying to rearrange their furniture how you like it. Rather, you're respecting them by living according to their rules. And, like you said, if one doesn't like it, the door's always there. Many Western leaders insist that any country that doesn't adopt our style of "democracy" is authoritarian. Where in the fabric of the universe is it written that the only permissible way to govern a society is Western-style "democracy"? haha. keep up the great work

Congratulations on the video, it is really instructive, simple and practical about life in China. There is too much Chinophobia today and it is important to spread the word about how things really are. I lived in China a long time ago, they did not have the development they have today but the spirit is the same as you point out. Since I lived there I was able to realize the potential of that country and its wonderful people, I am glad that you are doing this selfless work of disseminating the true reality, I personally appreciate it. Congratulations from Chile! 🇨🇱

Nothing like going for a nice walk by oneself reflecting on life's blessings. ❤

I love your video. Once I retired I went to China many times, 4 to 6 weeks each time, visiting Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan.
I was impressed: security, nice people, great food, public parks are well maintained, so many thigs to do, enjoying the culture.
Like yourself I did not care about the cameras, I felt secure and welcome. China haters do not know what they are talking about. Like the old saying ''When in Rome, act as a Roman''
Visited many countries around the world (Without guided tours) and China is my favorite country.
Your kids and wife certainly appreciate your choice of living in China
Cheers from Montreal, Pierre.

If I was a lot younger I would seriously look at moving to China. I have been watching a lot of programs and truthful videos about China and find it is not what we were programmed into believing in our Catholic school education back then. Go China.

I wish when mainstream media make interviews for their China documentaries, they pick people who are actually qualified to make comments. People like yourself who have lived in the country for a long time, rather than those who have not even set foot in China....

I absolutely enjoyed watching your video all the way to the end. I must say you have done so well Snide as you speak your mind with a well balanced mindset.
12 years in China is long time as a foreigner & managed to blend into the society & on that you should be proud of yourself. Keep it up & I surely look forward to watching more videos from you.

When you walk on the streets in China, they are very clean. I'm in New York, and the downtown area is quite dirty, with garbage everywhere and lots of homeless people on the streets. It seems like China does many things better than the U.S in many aspects.

Hey Snide, glad I found your channel. I am really fortunate to have lived in Shenzhen for about 7 years between 2008-16, those are some of the best years in my life. Before that, I have lived in Singapore for about 22 years since birth, 15 in Canada, 2 in the US, 7-8 months in HKG. Beside Canada, I cant really say I enjoy any of these places except Shenzhen but then Canada (Greater Toronto Area) is also started to get worse when I left in 2008.
In case anyone still wondering, just go to China and experience it yourself. No words are better than your own first hand experience.

An absolute freedom for each individual is not freedom, but anarchy. Freedom is only achievable if it is for the collective greater good but not focused on individuals.
