Fun Fact: my mom had no idea we had a social media account until about 3 months ago. One day out a lunch, a random group of people started yelling "IT'S THAT CHEAP GUY!" and asked to take pictures. And ya, I am still trying to prove to my mom that I am funny...baby steps.

Not gonna lie. For the few earlier minutes, I thought this was another one of his jokes. lol

*He speaks so calmly that I can't even tell apart his jokes from his self-description and his advice*

I’m impressed with the diversity of professions he’s had. He played a sport professionally, started his own company in the hardware/software space, and is now producing profitable social media videos. It’s rare to see someone successfully reinvent themselves so many times.

"We decided to have this baby because we want a new character in this content and the cheapest way is to make your own character in for you content" this line right here made my day

I instantly recognised him as the guy from jay and sharon. Great content he puts out.

Love Jay’s content, and now I respect him as a person too. I speak for everyone when I say I’m tired of egomaniacs that dominate social content; it’s refreshing to see humble, frugal, and 100% confidence about it.

I love how this is an interview he did, but yet at the same time it still feels like its an entire skit he made lol I love him he's great

Already raised up the standards for Asian comedians not using self depreciating jokes. Also: "because we have full-time jobs and live a simple life we have the luxury to choose which brand we want to work with" it's so humble compared to other influencers and tiktokers. The couple makes everything genuine.

I was checking out their budget pie chart. Being able to live with mom saves them tons of money. No need to worry about mortgage, home insurance, property taxes, maintenance or repairs!

"My mom lets me live here for free. She's a great land-lord."
This guy has potential.

So down to earth and great sense of humor. Wishing him and his wife the best, congratulations on the baby! Love that you chose to be frugal from your private highschool experience vs being superficial and trying to "compete" on things that don't matter like flashy logos, cars or dumb things that don't really bring value into someone's life.

Oh man, Jay and his wife are amazing and absolutely funny. They put in a lot of hard work for each video, even their shortest ones and they are all great.
Keep up the good work lol

Here watching 2024, he is right about the new character in his contents, that new character did well in skits

I used to think that an adult child should not live at home. But now I'm a father and given the cost of housing I've changed my mind. No son or daughter of mine is going to be a permanent renter. You see a lot of young people in the bay area with good incomes but no assets. $120k a year in bay area is just ok.

It would be epic when they start covering how some broke people survive, managing to live in good health, zero debt, tight budgets, little to no savings, invisible to society but somehow make it through every single day with no complains. Those are the MVPs, their survival is pure luck and God's grace.

Jay & Sharon are the coolest people. They seem really down to earth & it’s really cool they share their journey with viewers.

I don't go on TikTok anymore, but I absolutely adore this couple's content. It's witty and funny. Never ceased to put a smile on my face. I didn't know they lived in Sunnyvale!

Just for clarity, a friend of mine lives in Sunnyvale, his rent for a one bedroom 500 square foot house is $2500 per month, utilities including trash, electric and gas, and water is about $600.
