In the Police Academy for Florida if you FAIL 1 TEST you get 1 retake and then your kick out. Also you need a 80% or higher to be passing.

Yup. I was an academy instructor and I can confirm all of this. My assessment is that the biggest reason people do not graduate the academy is the state exam and getting kicked out. For instance, our last graduating class had 32 recruits. 1 had to quit for family reasons, another just stopped showing up, 2 were kicked out, leaving 28 registered to take the exam. 26 passed and 2 failed. Of the 2 that failed the first exam, one passed, one failed on their 2nd go around. That was sad to see because he was an experienced school security guy that handled gang issues, was very fit, former Army, made average scores on most other exams and had a great attitude so that was sad. Here you get 2 chances, after that you have to go through the course all over again.

In Tennessee you are allowed to retake 3 Tests throughout the 12 Weeks; After 3 you are dismissed and have to redo the Academy

Hands-on Training wise, You have to qualify on Evoc and Firearms at the end of those training weeks; You get 3 attempts on the qualifications days; if you fail, they allow you to continue on through the rest of the Academy, but you can't Graduate on Graduation day with your class. You have to come back to redo those hands-on parts with the next Class for those two weeks

PT is daily participation; The only thing that required on Week 12 is the obstacle course; The obstacle course is practiced alot through the 12 Weeks.... If you pass the obstacle course early during a practice, they will count that as your official one

Every state is different I think most big cities police academy in my opinion are military based and smaller cities/towns are more chill/laid back

I didn’t even get accepted to police academy because of my personal statement papers I filled it out as the best of my knowledge but missed a few things which is a bummer

What type of questions are asked on the tests? Multiple choice, fill in the blank etc? I'm 40 and smoked my Physical assessment and entrance exam. I'm about to take the poly and psychological test next week and my captain says they will be moving us quickly to get certified. My state does the 4 week online courses (with tests at the end of the week ) then after I pass that I gonorrhea academy for 8 weeks. I'm nervous as being am older canidate it has been a while since 8ve done any schooling. I've watched most of your videos, keep up the good work.
