A researcher and lecturer at Tilburg University; works on economic psychology, behavioural economics, and decision research. Mr ZEELENBERG talked about the science of regret.

Marcel Zeelenberg is a psychologist at Tilburg University, The Netherlands. After studying at Leiden, he finished his doctorate at the University of Amsterdam in 1996. He shortly worked at TU Eindhoven before settling at Tilburg University in 1998. He is co-founder and director of the Tilburg Institute for Behavioral Economics Research (TIBER). He is a member of the advisory council of NTR, a public broadcaster.

Professor Zeelenberg studies how emotions affect economic behaviour. Among others, he has done research on guilt, shame, pride and jealousy. He puts a special focus on regret and disappointment.

In summary, regret, according to Marcel, is a functional behavior to help us make better decisions. It also promotes reparative behavior meaning because we felt regret before, we change our behavior to make us (and others) feel better in our relationships. This is enlightening because most of us don't like the feeling of regret and, almost always, only label it as a negative emotion. Mabuhay from the Philippines! :)

I don’t regret reading the comments before watching i knew i’d regret it i have amazing intuition so i don’t have regrets intuition is key when you regret something you’ll feel pain in your stomach area your sacral chakra and that means your sacral chakra is blocked and that also affects your joy and happiness in life and the conditions of it your life choices if you’re happy enough you’ll be proud and joyful, if not you’ll experience negative emotions and think over and over about your wrongs decisions and feel the regret . I have regrets. I live with them. I feel them to a certain extent. But it doesn't stop me from doing the thing's I do In my regular life. I think that feeling's sometimes get in the way of Us as a species doing exemplary things.
