I like how unassuming and innocent you are walking through there 😂 I'm an American living in Tokyo and usually the people who work or frolic there don't like to be recorded. Also, bars and even some restaurants in Shinjuku can be traps where they'll overcharge your bill. The "Japanese only" signs or advisory usually means Japanese people only. Even foreign friends of mine with very fluent Japanese are denied at some bars with the same rules. But there are many options in Tokyo for a good night life where you won't deal with discrimination. Enjoy your stay!
