How to fix uTorrent stuck at Connecting to Peers

* A few ways of dealing with this annoying "Connecting to Peers" problem. At least one method presented in this video (hopefully) works. If not, make sure you're not downloading a dead or poorly seeded torrent.
* I'm not claiming these methods will work 100% for you because obviously this is an issue which has multiple solutions (only a tiny part from them being presented in the video). What works for you may not be working for someone else. I'm thinking on different setups, settings, firewalls, routers, ISPs. The situation is still foggy even on official forums.
* The comments section, provides great feedback regarding new possible fixes. Even if my problem is solved i'll check from time to time and add here some new suggestions.
*These possible fixes are working on both uTorrent and BitTorrent clients . owned by same company and the code is basically "copy/paste"
* If you're using a router, Port Forwarding is an option too

"1 more and the most important method is to go log in to your router .. For example type 192.168.1.1 and when u log in go on security -- SPI Firewall protection and set it to low. Or just play with ur router settings a little. Its nothing more than a firewall problem, either router or windows firewall. Good luck. "

I made a mistake during editing and there are 2 "methods 4" in the video. I'm too lazy to reupload and the number isn't necessarily important as long as one of them fixes your uTorrent or Bittorrent problem. Sorry for that.

Method 4 worked for me. Everything's turned on (VPN, anti-virus) and I didn't run it as admin. Thank you so much for the big help. It was properly illustrated. :)

Mine was the problem with the firewall. Norton was controlling it so I had to go to Norton security settings and check off the block for utorrent.

Thanks! utorrent was working last night but everything i tried to torrent this morning was stuck. method one worked great and while i wasnt able to locate the torrents to restart them i found them still in my list and everything has resume as expected! thanks!

ive Deleted The Resume.dat file and thee other one, i have even tried deleting every file then the whole file completely forcing a reinstalled. i also download 2 different version thinking that maybe a version before 3.4.2 would be better. i tried 3.3.2 and 3.4.1 both still continued to fail. i accessed my router trying to find if there was a problem or restrictions which there were none of. the current torrent im downloading has over 10k Seeders. i have tried stopping and starting the torrent numerous times. i then decided to re-upgrade back to 3.4.2. after calling up my ISP they had no idea what was causing the problem and i very much believe them as they are the type of ISP who encourages Utorrent and everything to do with freedom on the internet. i have no downloaded it on to my brothers laptop using my connection and his one works.

Thankls man for the second time because i bought a new laptop and i installed hotspot shield just to do some surveys but when i tried to download dying light in utorrent it was stuck at connecting to peers

Awesome you fixed my problem, thanks! after the first few methods did not work i thought this would would be unfixable, but after i ran utorrent using administrator privileges it worked great!
