I'd like to know what specifically in the bill would have saved humanity. I'm sick of all this "just trust us and support the bill" we have to deal with. Bills should pass on their own merit and only have 1 specific issue at a time. There should be no question whats in it, just saying it helps climate change shouldn't be enough, and claiming it will end humanity should require a very very high bar

What else did you expect from him? He's a coal producer and doesn't want anyone messing with his business. To Manchin, his personal interests outweigh public good interests. It's a common economic problem of an externality cost imposed on the public.
