I LOVE how he still calls him “Mr. Walz” with love and respect. Those of us who were blessed with that special teacher who saw your talents and encouraged them, especially if fellow students made fun of it, know it can be life changing! When I graduated law school and began my 30 year career as a prosecutor, I sent a thank you note to my high school history teacher for 3 years, Mr. Harlan Kreklow, Brookfield Central HS (go Lancers) Class of 1978, Brookfield, Wisconsin. No one knew I was struggling after a parental divorce, because it was kept secret, but he saw me, my talents, and for 3 years was my cheerleader.
