Met Marc Summers at a charity event years ago and asked him about it. Said they both had a beer afterwards.

Edit: I did meet him and he did say that. However, he was very likely being tongue in cheek. He didn’t elaborate beyond that response. He’s a sweet man. Can’t imagine he’d throw Burt under the bus at any capacity.
