I only adopted Windows 11 because I built a new PC and wanted the best compatibility with modern hardware. Specifically newer CPUs that have “performance” and “efficiency” cores working better under 11.

I had Windows 11 for a year and hated it, so rolled back to 10 and until I see an actual improvement over 10, in 12, I won't be updating again.

the fact that windows are x86/x64/arm is awesome. you can boot arm windows on your mobile phone and play for example heroes 3 thanks to back compatibility. thats great.

but there should be dual UI's.
For desktop users = UI like in windows 7 and older version of windows.
For touchscreen users = current w12 UI or whatever they want.

for ui I mean every window that we can see and click. Just look for windows 98 taskbar. u got everything in small monitor screen. from windows 10 you got nothing in half of the screen occupied.

M$ should go back to times when desktop had desktop UI. not freaking touchscreen ui

"AI integration" feature and "telemetry data collection" needs to be optional for users or people will leave Windows OS to more friendly alternatives! memory footprint reduction for RAM and HDD/SSD should be one of their main goals for Windows 12.

I only bothered with Windows 11 on a laptop because I am going to primarily use that with Office 365 for school anyway. It works okay, but it just seems like a more annoying and ugly version of Windows 10. Let's just say I don't hate it enough to move to Linux. I gave Linux a shot and modern Linux is even more broken due to the Wayland stuff and random glibc changes, plus KDE and GNOME aren't much better than Windows 11 anyway in terms of UI... my advice is stay on Windows 10 as long as you can (perhaps trying to find LTSC versions or ESUs), and then reluctantly upgrade when there's no more choice. You know the drill by now, I hope. Might as well stay with Microsoft, because all the stuff you don't like about Windows tends to find its way into mainstream Linux 5 or 6 years later anyway. Red Hat, Microsoft, Google, it's all the same anyway.

Unless you want every aspect of your personal online footprint to be in the hands of microsoft use Linux for laptop and desktop. I will NEVER buy another windows product again. Oh I had to use Win 11 cause my laptop came with it, but not anymore!
