Note, neither Egypt nor Greece existed in 9600bc, Plato made up the story as a metaphor, the story includes earthquakes which was not part of meltwater pulse 1B, and the event didn't happen in a day, it took years

Solon isn’t even Plato’s relative, he’s a relative of the character speaking in the Timaeus. Also, anyone who had read Plato at all knows he uses allegories all the time. Do we also think there’s an actual cave full of people somewhere because Plato talks about it?

Advanced for there time maybe. I still don’t understand why people say they were more advanced then we are. Far as i know theirs no orbiting pyramids. Now if there were pyramids on mars then maybe. But as far as i can see we are the most advanced humans ever to exist.

If its not richat. I have two theories. Based on the old map. It looks suspiciously like south america. N maybe the antikythera was used to navigate the atlantic oceans, where then future inferior navigators mistake south america’s location. South america had advanced civilization. People living on water. Pyramids like egypt. And this explains why the spanish were welcomed like “gods”. Having had a historical world trade. . Or option two. The azores islands. Which are on a tectonic plate in the middle of the atlantic ocean. If there was a massive shift to the crust. Which wouldnt take more than a few inches to feet in the america’s. It would have stretched out the atlantic floor. Causing more dramatic elevation changes. Causing the islands to lose elevation. This evidence is also in the african coast lines. Suggesting a rise in elevation of land. With the volcanic activity on the Mediterranean areas. The elevations could be tricking the geological studies. You would then have the inherent bulge in north africa and the Mediterranean. And a drop in the center of the atlantic.

Either way, there is evidence of a global trade system. Two cultures just happening to refine gold? Seperated by an ocean that couldnt be crossed?! Seems a bit fishy. Trade systems also have inherent patterns. But then why arent there any in north america?!

In south america. I studied a few pyramids that happened to allign with my theory of using a central underground well to build pyramids. Where it still had a river that was routed under the pyramid. Nearly identical to the great pyramids of giza.

If we could date better. Easter island, the pyramids of the south american cultures, the gold that was refined before it was stolen by spain, and connect a system between it all n egypt. I guarantee that with the elevation changes would suggest better where a culture like atlantis could have existed.

Atlantis was destroyed when the sphinx was flooded and when the ice age ended and brought on the great flood spoken about all over the world. Humans have been much more civilized for far longer than we have all been taught.

One hears this one hears that about it so we just keep sifting: have not yet built a full picture but think a lot about Dr. Walter Brown’s (‘In the Beginning’) thesis built upon the water eruption from the Mariana Trench and gradually things seem to vector that way from all I have encountered. I like especially the refutation he makes of ‘Continental drift’ by the simple fact that star-alignments established in ancient temples and monuments maintain to this day over periods which - by that drift construct - should have moved them by 60 feet.

The fact that academics still dismiss Atlantis as nothing more than a fantasy is just outrageous.

[Edit] I want to clarify the meaning of comment (the replies show I wasn't clear enough). I'm not saying Atlantis is an undeniable, historically proven fact. I'm saying that, the more time passes and research advances in many fields (geology, paleoclimatology, paleontology, genetics, archeology, philology etc...), the more the possibility of an ancient unknown civilization in the distant past (which means 300K to 6K years ago) becomes, at least, reasonable. I'm not saying sci-fi civilizations, I'm saying humble Ubaid-like civilizations, just a bit back in the (huge) Sapiens' past. Hence, dismissing the whole topic as a "conspiracy theory" or things like that is just idiotic as it means to close your eyes in front of a gigantic number of POTENTIAL (which doesn't mean certain) new discoveries.
