I run a 574hst rops on my channel. The tractor gets used, not beaten but definately used. I have videos of pushing out trees, moving dirt, rock, everything you could dream of on a tractor, and Im at 7, 500' so i can vouch for the turbomworking flawlessly. The machine just works. I have reccomended several people that did follow through woth buying tym after watching my videos.

I bought a T494 in March of 2020 and absolutely love it. I could not be more happy and satisfied with this tractor. I spec'd mine with R-1 ag. tires and shuttle shift because of our terrain and hills. The R-4 tires do give you a bit more width for added stability on hillsides, but I wanted the R-1 traction for the wet/swampy areas around our property. It's a trade-off. The shuttle shift is great for field work, but HST is better for loader work. Again, it's a trade-off. One notable advantage; shuttle shift and R-1 tires can save around $1500 - $2000 off of the purchase price, depending on your dealer. As for the controls noted in other comments, I have no issues with the loader joystick control or the differential lock pedal. Both are comfortable for me; I'm 6'0", 200 lbs. The rear remote three-point raise/lower control is such a time saver! So are the extendable lower links... makes hooking up and unhooking attachments really simple. Likewise, once I learned the "drill" of removing and re-attaching the loader, it's really simple. One of the best advantages of these particular tractors over any other competitors (and the other TYM/RK models) is the mechanical, IDI diesel engine. No DEF! No electronic engine controls! Mechanical diesel exhaust filter, and that's it!. Kukje Engines are only offered in the 394, 494, and 574, and to my knowledge are the only IDI mechanical engines on the market. Maintenance is simple; everything is very easy to access and filters are readily available at TYM dealers. I have not found cross-over numbers yet for air, oil, hydraulic, and fuel filters. If I ever buy another tractor of this size and can still get it, I'll buy a T574 cab tractor with HST and R-4's. But, I do honestly love my 494.

Learning to work my new 574 with HST. I find I like to add some throttle, with the the dash throttle, when loading to speed up the loader. If you do that with the foot controller you end up straining into the bank. So far great. Just added some lift hooks to the bucket.

I figured I would post some input from someone who is not TYM sponsored. This is MY 48.9 hour review on a T494 Cab HST.

I bought this tractor in July of 2022 and was delivered 8/4/22 to the Akron, Ohio area. I have owned many tractors in the past, so this review does have some real-world experience with a wide variety of tractor makes and sizes. I chose the T494 due to its size, weight, HP, and lifting ability. Needless to say, I was excited for delivery. I also purchase several implements including a grapple.
Upon initial inspection before first run, here are the items that irked me:
1. Had a 2019 build date
2. Paint was severely faded on roof and hood
3. 3rd function line was zip tied and valve was in a terrible accessibility location
4. Tire rims did not match, completely different offsets in front
Not the end of the world, but paying over $30, 000 for a tractor, I expected better.

Now time to try it out, upon first run here were the problems that came up in under 10 hours of use.
1. Hydraulic didn’t work correctly
2. Loader joystick came off
3. A/C didn’t work above 85 deg F
4. Stereo speakers were distorted and crackly
5. The L, M, H HST selector was very difficult to get into a range
6. 3-point lever was sticking and difficult to make small movements
On 8/6/22 started the emails and calls to the dealership I bought this from. Very quickly, sales passed the buck to the service manager. After 25+ emails and 10+ calls over nearly 2 months, problems got worse and more came up. The local Ohio and Tennessee rep is more interested in looking into the issues internally than making this right for the customer. Parts are backordered. I am now renting equipment because a tractor I bought doesn’t work and TYM is playing the blame game. Some issues I fixed myself, others I fear TYM will screw me. Below is a list of all issues to date. If it was corrected, I noted it.

1. Paint fade
Buffed and polished and added many layers of wax

2. Non-OEM 3rd function accessibility
No fix

3. Rims different causing hill instability
No fix

4. Joystick fell off
Disassembled/Fixed

5. Hydraulics not working right
Troubleshot with dealer, bad direction control valve. Leaking fluid and is introducing air into the system. Grapple can’t pick up anything, loader can’t back drag (bucket folds flat), loader bounces when driving.

6. A/C wont blow cold above 85 deg F.
Added R134, fixed for a week. Problem returned.

7. Stereo speakers blown
Replaced with Alpine speakers from Crutchfield

8. L, M, H hard to get into range
Just something to get used to

9. 3-Point sticks
Disassembled, cleaned rust off, greased. Much better now.

10. Cab dome light inop.
No Fix

11. Coolant being consumed
No fix, been adding to coolant bottle. Keeps being consumed.

12. Float lock on joystick stropped working.
This was discovered when unhooking loaded for 50hr. The base for the joystick is plastic with impregnated metal, can’t see the cause. No fix

13. PTO shaft hits draw bar.
Temp fix, I removed the draw bar. The PTO hits when you lower an implement. I blow up 2 shafts before I discovered the cause. Very bad design.

14. Radiator screen impossible to get to.
This has 2 screens, the rear one is a decent design and easy to clean. The front, well you need to remove the air intake, AC lines, and other hoses to access. So, first line of defense for leaves/debris you cannot clean. No fix.

Overall, this tractor has a good initial design. Fit and finish are terrible, and quality department needs work. I’m not sure if this was designed in Korea or the USA, but their R&D engineer needs to actually use one of these tractors. It had good power and drivetrain seems strong. This machine has the potential to be very good with some redesign and fit and finish changes.

Before anyone challenged me, this is just MY experience and option. I like to hope not all TYM experiences are like this. I just feels like I got a parts car, that sacrificial tractor that other tractors robbed from for years, then someone decided to sell it. According to the dealer, TYM built/assembled this. I guess dealers do this normally?

Right now, this machine is just sitting because it pretty much useless in its current state. Hoping TYM makes this right.

I wish you would have addressed that way too long diff lock lever at your left heel. That thing is hard to use and seems like the longest throw of any diff lock lever I've ever used. Also of interest to me is what people think of the loader lever which smacks into your leg to knock your foot off the forward operating pedal when your diving into a pile of material. One needs complete control of both the forward and reverse pedals but it's essential on the forward pedal when curling to capture the load. You often need to actuate the diff lock, get into the material while working the curling function AND still driving forward somewhat. In my opinion, that's the only way you'll get a full bucket. I think TYM should change the profile of that loader lever so that it does not hit your leg.

I own a T494 and absolutely love the tractor.. I use it daily. My only complaint is the location and height of the loader joystick is horrible. I have to extend my arm fully and lean forward every time I want to put the bucket down. Since 75% of my time on the tractor is loader work, I plan on having a new rod for the joystick made to make it more comfortable. One of my other tractors is a Yanmar SA424 and if you look at the location of the loader joystick, you can see how perfectly that one is placed.

Did the chutch pedal fall off of these tractors? How does the range selecter shift or does it just grind right in? Does this model come with a shuttle shift or power reverser real gear transmision?

Does all of the T 474 have a screen for the Hydraulic filter?
Because when my tractor was serviced there was no screen there!

Can you do a video on a side by side comparison between the 474 and the 494. I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger but I am having a hard time choosing between the two. I could get by with the t474 but am afraid on the occasion I will lift something heavy, if regret not getting the bigger one. Will be doing brush hogging and a lot of woods work. Carrying logs. Have about 30-35 degree inclines getting down my creek and up other side.afraid the bigger machine won't be as maneuverable as the smaller, but like the wider platform for stability.

Great video! What are the differences between the 494 and 474 other than engines? I know the 494 is in the VALUE line. What does that mean?

Thank you for doing these latest TYM videos! Is the T554 with the TX55 Loader the same as the T574?

I don't understand why the T494, T574 don't have the pump output like the older T554 tractors? Maybe the T554, etc will be discontinued.

What is the difference in the t494 and the t494c? Their website descriptions are identical. Is it that the "c" indicates a cab model?

Why isn't there more 494 hst videos of this model working in the field?

Auto throttle is nice except when running pto attachments. The harder you push the pedal (because you want to speed up) you will surpass the 540 pto rpm. Not good. So you are basically stuck at a limited speed.
