That is by far one great example of how a relay works. Well done sir. This video needs ti be shown to school kids and apprentice 1st years.

Love this video illustration and all of your quick how to’s or did you knows. My only suggestion is for this to become a part 2 video, and make a part 1 explaining how and what conductors need to be terminated at which location for a N/O, N/C, contact to work. I can't tell you how many times when I was an industrial electrican that maintenance or a shift lead would try and fix something before my shift and I had to reconfigure everything. The reason I make this suggestion is so those individuals whom are green or unfamiliar can now be directed accordingly on how N/O, N/C contacts work. Keep it up Dan love your content makes me miss the good ole days before I got sick. 🔧

Arguably relays were the biggest game changer in circuitry until modules like ECMs and BCMs in cars and computers in automation came out. I'll always prefer relays, switches, and interlocks (mechanical and electrical).

Relay nomenclature is confusing enough it must be globaly standardized. In a normally closed relay, if you do not apply power, the other side of the circuit, allows current to pass. If you apply power the other side does not allow current to pass. In the video he has the same source at both sides of the relay (bridge) that is why when he removes power it completely powers down. the switch box is not simply wired, as he implies.
