I’m currently been working in legal and recently passed my two interviews and have been offered to work in recruitment. I’m so nervous and happy at the same time. Thanks 🙂

I am late to this video, but quick sharing my thoughts - i am involved in it recruitment for 8 years, with 300 headhunted hirings. I've had in my team a member, lady, introvert, that didnt like people, but she was very precise, punctual and honest. And she rocked ;-).

i worked in a recruiting agency, and it's definitely very sales driven. the company i worked for is one of the better ones as far as ethic, but some are super numbers focused, mostly at the expense of the candidate and client. you definitely aren't in HR and are a salesperson. i would recommend being very money motivated if you're interested in an agency.

If I hate people, perhaps I could fire employees instead. 😉

This was very informative. I am an master's engineering student but I am starting to think that this really not something I see myself doing for rest of my life. Where as this, helping people get a job causing happiness. Seems like an absolute dreamland of a profession. I also believe that I have the talent for it. But my education might not exactly match with what you said. Also, I'd love to start the college thing again and hope to study psychology. Thanks for the video. This was my first video after I had the career change thought. So if it goes well. All thanks to you.

This is a great video! The company I work for is in 2 states but still kind of small and niche with only a few locations. They are offering a recruitment coordinator position and I'm considering apply. You gave me a great insight into the job day to day, quite well. Thanks :)

I’m working as a recruiter as well and I totally agree with you! Yes, It’s going to be a nightmare working as recruiter if you don’t like people!haha I’ve never worked for a recruiting company either but I prefer in house recruiter too because we know what it’s like to working for a recruiting company. So true it’s more like sales. In my case, I work in Japan and we hire many new graduates so I visit lots of universities.

I'm a recruiter in Bangladesh. Everyday I have to make 20 calls and do telephone interview. It is an exhausting job with much pressure.

So true Sandy! It's not as easy as people think. I have done both agency and in-house recruiting. Both have pros and cons. Great job on this video :).

I've worked at a bank for almost 2 years as a teller and I just applied for a recruiter/training coordinator position!! I hope I am as lucky as you and get hired on for a new role at the same company! Thanks for sharing!

I have recently joined a recruitment agency. I am working on Tech jobs in the US with multiple clients mostly working on Google jobs. I decided to be a recruiter because I was a research analyst in the past. I used to hunt people on Linkedin and connect them for surveys. While I was doing research on their carriers and profiles I always dream to become successful like them. Then I realized that I cannot be master of every field instead of that I can place some awesome people in topmost companies. And now recruitment has become my dream job I really loved to watch people whom I place getting success in their carriers.

but you certainly don't need to find new people everyday? what if every position is taken?

I have a question. How can you tell when someone is a perfect fit for a position? Is it the way he/she handles his/herself during interviews? The qualifications and credentials? Do personal qualities play so much role (if yes, how can you judge someone's personality when you only met him/her through interviews?)?

I have worked with many recruitment companies and good agencies are less sales heavy and it is more about finding the right fit for the right company. I also get calls telling me they have found the right role for me. This used to frustrate me but I have moved around a lot lately so I am more respectful these days. I don't do telephone interviews because I do not have to. If they have my CV I will come in but if they don't want me to that is fine too I will look elsewhere. Good agencies know their bank of people so when a role comes up they have an idea of who they want to fill that vacancy but obviously that is not always possible if the person is happy where they are. Also I used to travel all over the place to meet recruiters but now I make them come to me. I am happy as it is close and my local is happy for the custom :) Wait until you are more in demand before going down this route but I suppose I am less loyal these days so recruiters know I am easier to persuade having recently started another new job.

I am an internal recruiter as well but I do not have a university degree. I will say most recruiters do have a degree although it is not impossible to get into recruiting without a degree.
