I’d LOVE to have a CRT for my retro set up! Sadly, I haven’t found the right person to buy one from as of yet. I live in the South East of England and I will need all the important after sales support, someone to re-gun and recap the TV if/when needed, guaranteed light gun/60hz support and all, and a better assisted living house/training flat to live in! I am currently stuck in a far-from-home care home where the other residents LIVE ON loud noise and need more help with life than I do!

That ghosting is more likely a problem with the converter because I never seen that happen even if a NES been directly hooked up to a flat tv or anything. it is still pretty rare to get newer TVs with absolutely no analogue inputs, all TVs I tested old consoles with have not displayed it this wrong. But I do play on CRT in my living room anyway for the correct RGB experience

Unfortunately those HDMI converters are absolutely terrible. If you wanted a good quality experience with a more modern connection you would want an actual downscaler like a Extron Emotia or a Retrotink 5x.

Also if you get a chance, try to find a CRT with component or RGB inputs, it makes an absolutely huge difference vs composite. Depending where you live they aren't that hard to find, although people are taking advantage of the retro gaming craze and selling them for more money.

I remember playing PlayStation 1 on a CTR TV years ago good times. Cool video. ^_^

I still have the TV my mom bought in 1992, when I was born. I grew up in front of that thing, so when I moved to my own place I took it with me.

I missed playing games on my cart tv as a disabled kid from the 90s

I agree that a CRT is better than simply plugging composite/RF directly into an LCD. I play an NESRGB modded NES with HD Retrovision component cables going into a RetroTINK on my 65" 4K LCD, and it's absolutely glorious.

I still have the CRT, it's the Sylvania 32 inch from 2004.

However, I'm adjusting my life as a pure retro gamer and modern retro gamer. Pure retro gamers use consoles and CRT TV. Modern ones use HDTV and a Raspberry Pi...

I got a 30" CRT TV from the local Asain market for like $10.

I have the exact same CRT that you show on the video xD. I bought it for 3-4 bucks (70 Mexican pesos in fact) on a flea market, and I use it mostly for my PS2 Slim, since I used to play on a LCD screen, and when I did the change, WOW! I was surprised because the games did look much better in that RCA TV, with the correct framerate and 4:3 aspect ratio designed for those games. I think it was a good purchase

Nah. I'd sooner got back to using reel-to-reel systems for listening to music.

Can you hook up a pc to a crt? I have a Mitsubishi 36” that I’ve hooked up my pc to with a HDMI to rca adapter. The pc games look ok but I can’t read any of the text from my pc because it’s blurry. Does anyone know how to adjust to make the text clear? Do I need another adaptor or do I need to mess with the actual tv settings?

For 240p content (PSX, NES etc.) SD CRTs are still the best, but 480i/480p content IMO already looks good on LCD, but it has to be small and low resolution LCD, becasue otherwise upscaling will ruin the image quality. On my low resolution plasma PS2 and xbox games looks even better than on my SD CRT even at 480i, while 480p games looks almost HD.
