Thanks Rachel. The process helped me to remove the car engine grease from my white trousers. Total process from applying the baking soda, then dish soap and finally scrubbing and washing with detergent took 10 mins to eliminate the stains completely.

It worked but you have to let it sit for 24 hours as I watched that on a different site, then get rid of the excess baking soda before you apply a grease remover with a soft toothbrush. My red dress is back to normal, I was once scared thinking cause of the stretchiness in the material it was hard to brush it out but still I tried to use some common sense by holding one edge of the stain with my left elbow and the other end of the stain with my fingers, while cleaning it with my right hand. I didn't have to put it in a hot wash as not all clothing can handle hot water. Cold wash did the trick perfectly with a short spin. So grateful to your tips. About my stain I think it was either the oil stain from a restaurant or it was an ointment that got on it cause I did both thing on the same day I wore my dress for the first time. Now I'm going to try for the ink you showed. Thanks

It would have been a good idea if you had shown the item after treating & washing it so we can see if the stain was removed or not.

Hey you should try doing that two times before in the order of baking soda-dish soap- baking soda -dish soap then that stuff looks new.

Hi Rachael, thanks for the tips. I used dawn only and rubbed it in with my fingers and washed in hot water... came out good as new. By the way this was an old stain... two weeks maybe, on a dark blue Patagonia shirt. Baking powder not necessary. Thanks though. And you are pretty damn hot.
