I think your bedroom can literally be any color and style and be calming, as long as the more sensory aspects are present and cater to you, personally. The coziest, most calming time I ever had, was in my old studio apt.( My bachelorette pad). It was dark grey-blue, had several lighting options, tons of pillows, candles, my art collection everywhere. This video is less of a “how to make your room relaxing” and more of a “how to decorate your room in a specific minimalist style that works for some people”.

In terms of making a relaxing room, and not JUST a minimalist one, yes to the lighting and soft, cozy fabrics, but no to the idea that you need a neutral color palette for things to look relaxing. Sometimes going too neutral, especially if it’s with a lot of grays and whites, can make a space cold and boring and uninviting. As long as it’s a color/colors you like and won’t get tired of, any color can work as long as it isn’t overwhelming and doesn’t clash with the rest of the room. Greens and blues are also particularly relaxing, but even oranges and yellows can be relaxing if used correctly to make a warm and inviting space. Minimalism is just not always the way to go. Sometimes having a good amount of personal decor can make a room feel more lived in and unique. And for me, having everything put away can make it impractical and difficult to use things. It’s okay to have frequently used items out and visible as long as they have a designated spot and don’t make the room look cluttered and messy.
