The 57-62” tip is legit life changing. I’ve been watching a ton of your videos both in preparation for my move/since I’ve moved in and have been unpacking. I recently put up a portrait of my nana in my hallway and somehow the placement didn’t feel quite right. After watching this, I immediately went and moved it - now it’s absolutely perfect.

Possibly best episode ever. I am in process of getting a coffee table. Love that drum table! The lighting was really helpful too

You are always a joy Kiva. Always make me smile. I just moved into a larger rental home that has built-ins in the dining room with lots of open shelves and when I saw it I thought this is great now that I’m trying to decorate it it’s literally not so great just like you said lol

Hi KB. Does the 57 inch rule apply to a wall placed tv? Great episode, so much quality content. Thank you

Great tips! Samsung has a TV called The Frame that's designed to look like a piece of art. It's another great way to conceal your tv and there's no need to move the disguise every time you want to watch it. I'll be saving up for one!

Great episode and especially because I have finally completed my condo design process (started on Dec. 26, 2021) and it is definitely magazine worthy. Yesterday was photo day and now I am just sitting here basking in it. Coincidentally, I first hung artwork over the couch that looked too high so I went to the trouble to lower it to where it looked right to me. The midpoint measurement is 63". Since the couch has a tall back the art would be really close to the couch. My TV is in a wrap-around entertainment center with closed lower shelving and open shelves up and around the TV that created endless opportunities for decor. I love it. Since I didn't do any of the options to hide it I use a Youtube art screensaver which is great for when there are visitors.

One thing people don't ask is 'is a tv the best solution for this space?' I love movies and lived in a flat with a huge blank white wall and high ceilings and this prompted me to buy a projector instead as no matter how much I spent the tv was going to be too small for the space and I could instead use 'negative space' by keeping the wall blank when not in use over having a tv acting as a eyesore. For casual viewing I could use a tablet but when I wanted to watch something 'good' like Game of Thrones I could swap the living room into a cinema. These days I live in a house with the living room centred around a large window so instead of a wall I project the image onto the window by using a white black out blind to cover the window and turn it into a projector screen. Using a blank wall or projector screen for living rooms is awesome for older houses and renters as not only do you skip damaging walls to "mount" a tv but they naturally look more retro or are portable so you can tuck them out of sight when not in use. It's quite funny that my guests don't notice the missing TV but the space feels very different, my aunt taught me this as she had a historic home and only had a small tv tucked in a bedroom while the living room was full of books and artwork.

Putting tapestry in front of the tv is definitely something I’ll add to my space. Such a useful video like always!

My husband loves his tv, hiding it, is not a conversation I’d win 😂

Notice the color of the light in all the photos - it is a pure white light - you can easily (and now cheaply) get this with the new K5000 bulbs (often called "daylight" (as opposed to "soft white") The K number (in this case K5000) refers to the color of the light. You can find the K number on all bulb packaging and on most of the bulbs - but in very tiny type. The color of the light makes a huge difference in the ambiance of yoru home. Yellow-ish light - K2300 or K2700 will make everything look a bit dingy. You might think that your light is not yellow, but if you put in just one K4500 or K5000 bulb you will immediately see the difference. Also there is available K3500 which my housemate used to prefer. Another note on lighting is that indirect lighting might be preferable for you - by this I mean lighting that has an opaque shade and the light is positioned to bounce off walls or ceilings. I have torcheres with opaque metal shades and the light bounces off the top of the walls and the ceiling. You still get a well lit room but it is more subtle.
