Funny that she says that considering my dermatologist told me a very different thing: the laser kind of destroys the broken vein, the vein shrinks and then goes away via the bloodstream. A treated vein does not return however there can always appear new veins on your face which is the reason why it is good to get the laser treatment annually.
I have had many laser treatments and the old veins never reappeared. I did however get new veins that I treated with laser.
My English is a bit broken so hopefully this story made sense, but based on what I have been told by my dermatologist and my own experiences I don’t exactly agree with this doctor.

I had IPL and it removed ALL of the telangiectasias (spider veins/broken, enlarged capillaries) which covered my cheeks and nose!! Very satisfying!

They way you talk is unconvincing, like you literally telling someone there is no hope 😂

That's categorically not true. You can get rid of these permanently. I had them on the top of my leg and I had them burnt out and the scab dropped off and they never grew back.

I had prominent veins on my upper eye lid lower brows .. but after using tretinoin constantly they are not seen at all until i use my fingers to stretch skin and see it ... Cuz it boosts collagen. So try it guyz

This makes me a bit sad. I have thread veins under my eyes and have heard about Thermocoagulation as a way to treat - any thoughts on it as being a permanent solution (as it is sold)?

I’ve had great luck with VBeam pulsed dye laser, I do have to touch up once in a while though! It’s made a massive difference for me.

Hyfrecation or electrodessication is best. Cheaper, more accurate and easier healing.

I had an IPL (only one session) early the spring 2024 for superficial blood vessels from rosacea and they never came back to the extent they were there before! For me this IPL was completely worth the investment!

Though I’m really careful with my skin: I’ve been using spf50 every day since and every night I use retinol 1%, vitamin C 1% and ivermectin 10mg/g. I also try to avoid any foods containing cinnamaldehyde, capsaicin and alcohol!

Does gua sha make them worse? Mine got worse after using those red light one, but not sure if it’s age or the tool.

Dermatology is such a scam. Nothing is treatable and actually when electro cautery is used it permanently shuts them down once it coagulates. Problem with lasers is depth isn’t good enough and turning it up too high can damage the skin. They won’t come back with a cautery treatment and though it’s old it is the best treatment.

In your opinion, it’s shell out money for a treatment which won’t be satisfactory but pay for it anyway? There are even at home devices that can yield same results as in office treatments, but of course money over anything and the easy way out. What more to expect from a dermatologist.
