Thanks a ton for watching my Trident Bartering Farm video! Hope you found it entertaining! 🎉

This farm runs smoothly in Minecraft Bedrock version 1.21.

* Drink a potion of water breathing which will help you to breathe when you are under water and drink a potion of night vision to see better under water.
* With spawning spots/blocks i mean check for a place where they naturally spawn in groups, light level might affect that place, so check for a good spot!
* For best results use a sword with looting 3 enchantment like i did in this video!
* I recommend closing the game after finishing the farm's construction and reopening it. This method gave me better results right away compared to just starting to farm immediately.
* Well, i've made a mistake, the room at bottom isn't 12 blocks big, it's actually 27 blocks big (not counting the path to the exit), my bad, sorry for that 🤪
* If you encounter the problem that your drowned won't pickup the nautilus shells no matter what, which seems to be a problem for just a few players for some reason, then simply switch your game mode from normal to hard, according to @snarka6177 this will fix the problem!
* some players have problems with buttons, if your buttons don't keep water in place or break then replace every button with fence gates and open them, this works too!
* some player report that drowned won't attack the turtle egg, the reason for that is that you have to have a 2 blocks gap between the sand stone block and the roof, otherwise no mob will be able to reach it, you also have to make sure there is a two block gap on all sides from the sand stone block + you have all trapdoors in place, make sure to open the trapdoors and finally you have to have a two block gap between the ocean floor and the roof so the mobs can approach the turtle egg.
* if no mobs make it down to the kill chamber then check your game settings, you have to be on simulation distance of 4 in order to make it work, as mentioned in the video ... also check the point before this one.

This is the first time I realized and learned you could barter with Drowned for their Tridents, that is so cool

I loved this. Simple farm - a lot of digging but no redstone to deal with or anything, and your presentation of it was smooth, clear, and well put together. Thank you!

1:33 “now we need to remove this water inside this room” me thinking he’s going to use a sponge ‘proceeds to fill the room with dirt’

tip! place the dropper one block back (further from the drowned) they're actually grabbing the shell now. works as intended. just make sure you choose a decent location for the farm.

Trading with drowned with tridents is genius I never knew that could be done.

As soon as I heard what sounded like a German accent, I was like "This one is gonna work" :D

Since 2016 I have had a niche for testing farms in Creative before throwing them in a Survival world. I tried to make a trident farms a few years ago with the turtle egg method and it never worked. I was having the same issue at first with this farm after building the top half without the drop chute. I changed all the trapdoors to coral fans and shortly after the drowned started to be enticed by the eggs. I tested the bartering. It does work. I was able to get the same amount of tridents with full durability as I did with damaged durability. As stated in the tutorial, it does not always work, and when multiple drowned drop at the same time, it can be challenging to kill some of them so you only have the one holding the trident. This farm also helps you collect nautilus shells as well which can be used with hearts of the sea from treasure chests to make conduits.

When I looked for spawn spots. I pillared up to Y 80 above the water and looked for a spot in the middle of multiple spawn spots close by.

This a very good beginner farm, also a good farm for the start of a new world. It’s not difficult to get tridents while swimming around with water breathing potion and a helmet with respiration, but this build does not require that.

Best tutorial yet! I was getting frustrated with the buttons on the glass, kept letting water in. I just had to replace the broken glass with buttons a lot quicker and had no issue. Thanks again!

I have built silentwhisperer one on my previous world and it worked great, but this time i'm building this one. It's hidden and easy to build. Thanks

Thanks a lot man. Working like a charm and way easier to build than traditional trident farms.

UPDATE: I set the spawn radius from 11 to 21 (11 being standard Bedrock realm settings and 21 being standard Java settings), and it seems to have helped. I am now at least getting Drowned to drop when standing at the bottom.

Running into multiple problems with this farm on Bedrock 1.21.72.

-Firstly, only baby drowned seem to want to enter the farm. I tried to solve by adding more trap doors on the outside to provide more pathing to the egg. Seems to allow them easier access to fall in.
-Secondly, adult drowned were dying from the fall even though I am exactly 44 blocks below the level of the sandstone. I tried to solve by adding another button/water combo about five blocks above the hopper. Seems to stop them from dying by the fall.
-Thirdly, the turtle eggs aren't reliably attracting drowned. I have to stand around the edges and try to entice drowned to me, and they seem to ignore the eggs even though there should be adequate pathing to it.
-Fourthly, some drowned are getting trapped in whirlpools around the farm and won't move towards me or the eggs.
-My last issue is that drowned won't spawn if I'm in the bottom room, again even though I'm exactly 44 blocks down. I am on a realm with sim distance of 4, so I have to assume that's the issue. I built my farm right next to a drowned spawner, so if I stand by the farm up top they spawn regularly.

All in all, I either built this wrong even though I have quadruple checked it, or something about the version or realm is messing it up.

I set up a conduit while building it then after I finished it, took the conduit down. That was a big help getting it started.

Just built this in Bedrock 1.21 and it works great. Got 5 tridents in 10 min without spawnproofing caves near by. Some tips:

- don't build it in a river (2 drown density mob cap vs 5 in the ocean)
- buttons on corners have 2 water source blocks next to them and will break, use another layer of dirt in the corners or use fence gates
- if you don't have any shells just kill the drowns with a sword, you will get some from them
- from my testing it works better if you go -43 levels down from the Sand stone (22 blocks, water, 21 blocks)
- don't stand next to the hopper, move back two blocks to be exactly underneath the middle of the farm

Been looking everywhere for something I can use that isn't hideous. This has so much potential since I can just build up and make a cute access area above. Thank you!

Very good farm. It’s pretty low effort for a farm that will easily provide all the tridents you’ll ever need quickly and without fuss. You only need two weapon tridents and the rest are for farms, so you will only need to use this farm a couple minutes every month with how efficient it is. 👍

Thank you! The farm works and it was super easy to build compared to other massive builds. Ended up making a turtle home so I can breed them for eggs too.

Only thing is they aren't picking up the Nautilus shells, so far.. Either way I'll only be using the tridents for trident killers so full health doesn't really matter. Thanks again though it's a great farm!

Edit: It worked! I guess chances are low when they do the trade but I just got a full health trident. Took only 25 minutes haha

4/6/25 – Edit: There was a tunnel underneath my farm causing drowned not to spawn as frequently due to other mobs spawning (I didn't make it in an ocean biome). I made it in my cave base as there was water in it and drowned were spawning. I covered up that tunnel and a tiny cave, I didn't want to use torches. And SO MUCH DROWNED are spawning! I've gotten 5 tridents in less than 10 minutes.
