Ukraine Crisis: Biden announces new sanctions against Russia

Joe Biden has announced sweeping new sanctions against Russia after Vladimir Putin ordered troops into eastern Ukraine.

The US President said "full blocking sanctions" would be imposed on two large Russian financial institutions, VEB and their military bank.

Comprehensive sanctions are also being imposed on Russian sovereign debt, cutting off Russia's government from Western financing.
