Putin learned from 2014 and has been steadily preparing for this to the point where these sanctions will not have impact on the economy. He has amassed a massive treasury in foreign currency to guard against a run on the Ruble, they have a self sustaining economy, food supply, technology and military industry. China is moving from coal to gas for energy and is going to Russia for all its needs.
