Linear Approximations (Calculus 1)

This Calculus 1 video explains how to use linear approximation to estimate a number. Examples of approximating a square root and a cube root are included. We show the idea of linearization of a function and how it can help us to approximate a nearby value. Linear approximation develops from the point-slope equation of a line, with the derivative representing the slope for the linear approximation.
