Halmeoni teaches me how to make Korean multi grain rice, also known as Korean Purple Rice...

Korean Multigrained Rice⤵️
10 lbs white rice
3-5 lb black sweet rice
3.2 lbs pressed barley
2 lb peeled mung bean
4 lbs sweet rice

⁃ Combine this all together in a big bucket. I used a rice cooker to cook my rice
⁃ Black rice is what makes it purple so you can add more or less.
⁃ The measurements for this can all be adjustable. If you can’t find a 2 lb bag of peeled mung bean but found a 3lb bag, use that.

I also make my own multigrain rice. I use pearl barley instead of pressed because my husband likes them. The black rice make the end product pretty!! Sometimes i used red or purple rice because it is a bit hard to find black rice here.

I would use the knuckle measurement when cooking rice and it ALWAYS came out wrong. But I watched another Korean YT and she uses the 1:1 ration, I tried this method and my rice comes out perfect every time. I would love to try this rice mix but without spending $$ on the different packets. Love your channel & content ❤

I had to make my own mix like this too cause I can’t eat barley! I added in red sorghum instead to mine. It’s so good this multigrain rice! (total grains I used: black rice, brown rice, brown sweet rice, white sweet rice, red sorghum, split mung beans. I combine this with regular white rice when ready to cook it)

we add quinoa to ours too. we do it for regular white and brown rice too.

looks so yummy! it necessary to soak the rice for 2-3 hours before cooking? i saw a different recipe that soaked and now i’m wondering if it will affect the texture if i don’t but who has time to soak rice for 3 hours 😭😭
