As a korean I get tired of eating this type of rice. In korea all moms make these types of rice because they are good for your health.

my middle school best friend's mom is korean and she always had purple rice in the rice cooker. i'd come over after school and she would make us bowls of rice and cook us korean bbq on her tabletop grill 🤍 purple rice always makes me so nostalgic and happy!

Korean here. Make a sunny side up, add 1tbsp light soysauce and sesame oil each.
Mix it with thr purple rice.
The most common and easy korean meal prepared!!

In my place in india we usually use black rice for dessert like puddings less for normal consumption. There is another rice which is more common to us called Himalayan red
rice , my mom told that they used to eat red rice daily and white rice occassionally but now things have changed we use white rice for normal dishes and red rice for special dishes, surprisingly how things get changed in 20- 25 yers

I'm from Peru and at my house we make "purple rice" by adding a sort of black olive puree to the rice when it's cooking. I don't know if it's a local recipe but it's really good and we usually eat it on christmas

my mom does this, and she adds in lentils too! then she adds canned coconut milk, salt, and indian curry powder all to taste. it's really good and a great budget meal haha

Back about 7 years ago, i used to make pink-purple rice sushi. I loved the color. The vinegar makes it more pink.

Recently I've been mixing 2/3 part of white rice and 1/3 part of mixed of brown+red+black rice with the addition of multi grain mix package. The multi grain mix gives the slightly savory taste to the rice and the mix of brown+red+black rice gives the rice purple color and extra fiber. It's great and healthy ~

We use black rice to use for kalamay for the color. No need to really use food coloring too :)

YES purple rice is the best- my mom used to make purple rice onigiris for an after school snack when i was a young kid!! practically my comfort food now

Without salt, just try it with sugar. Just add some sugar on the top. We always do that and it tastes really good

at home we mix half white/half dark rice to get that soft texture without that rice bran taste but still makes you full quicker unlike plain white rice.. helps when you wanna cut down on the amount of rice you eat..

Black rice pudding is so good! It looks like a super dark purple too.
