heroes can change the world, they can save thousands, they can ignite the hopes of millions, there strength can inspire others to stand tall. but being a hero is often a one time thing, for those who actively stay as a hero inevitably suffer, for every thousand they save there are hundreds the left to die, with each hope they ignite the bear the burden of thousands, and for everyone they inspired to stand, another was doomed to fall
being a hero is a burden, an optimist would call those who bear the burden "someone strong enough to bear it" while a pessimist would call them "the only one crazy enough to try."

I have said it before. "The hero never reaps the reward, the hero only pays the price." That is why people always love a hero. They are willing to pay a price no one else would pay to accomplish what no one thought could be done. Yet in the end they do it not for themselves. They do it for love of others. People they know and people they will never meet. They do it for love of humanity, so that people years from now will never have to make the same sacrifices they had to make. "A hero's death" we say it with reverence and honor. Yet few truly see what it means. A person sacrificed all they were, all they could have been. So that those who were left behind could be truly happy and free. Happy to live the lives they have chosen for themselves. Free in the knowledge though we maybe different on the outside and in, that we are all the same none the less. If we as a race(the human race) could remember that a little more often, then we would honor those fallen heroes. And maybe we would need them a little less often. To all my sisters and brothers, to humanity itself, I say I love you all. I take the first step in being the last hero. Who will follow me on this path? Who would sacrifice all they have ever been taught, to see beyond the lies this world has shown us? So that those who come after can truly be happy and free.
