Buckingham Palace denies cropping Meghan from Harry’s 40th birthday photo | #yahooaustralia

On Sunday, the Royal Family’s official social media account shared the image, wishing Harry a happy 40th birthday. The Prince and Princess of Wales later reshared the same post.

However internet sleuths quickly speculated that the Duchess of Sussex was intentionally removed from the photo, which was originally taken during the couple’s visit to Ireland in 2018.

A search on Getty Images shows both a wider version including Meghan and a zoomed-in version of just Harry.

Buckingham Palace clarified that the birthday photo “was not altered and was used in the format it was received.”

It’s being reported that the only reason Harry was even acknowledged on his birthday by the BRF is because it was a milestone birthday. The reporter said that for non-working family members, the working family members (the monarch & the direct heirs to the throne) only acknowledge the birthdays of those having a milestone (1, 21, 40, etc). It’s the reason Harry’s surrogate children aren’t publicly (or otherwise) wished a happy birthday (they aren’t having milestone birthdays and they aren’t working members of the family, nor are they direct heirs to the throne), and it’s one of the reasons Meghan isn’t acknowledged on her birthday (although by the looks of her, next year when she turns 50 they might congratulate her on officially being a senior citizen).
