This week we change out our Rodi unit membrane, carbon block, sediment filter, and DI resin. However we were not expecting to get wet in the process. Come along as we have fun and laugh while doing some reef tank aquarium maintenance.

For everyone reefing on a budget like me, Ao Smith makes coconut carbon blocks which remove chloramine an chlorine just ad well as the brs blocks. You get two for $17 bucks available at lowes.

This video reminds me that I need to change my cartridges. My sediment filter is literally the color of a penny. My DI resin literally last for a couple of years. I haven't changed anything in over a year. I upgraded to the BRS 150 GPD unit and I still have the original membrane from over 5 years ago. How is the tank doing?

Your post triggered something in my aging brain. In a previous conversation you mentioned your DI resin is lasting about 3 weeks. That does not sound right to me. I have about 200 gallons of saltwater in various tanks and it works out to around 3-5 gallons RODI use per day and my resin lasts many months. How much do you use per day? Have you measured the pH of your tap water? Would be helpful if some of your other followers weighed in with their numbers.
