Horizontal integration is about mixing up two companies that are in the same level of the value chain. These two companies might be producing the same product in the market or they might be producing different products, but they have to be in the same level of the value chain.

Vertical integration is about two companies in different stages of value chain getting mixed, merged or acquired together.

Isn't this Horizontal Integration explained in this video same as Horizontal Merger, whereas both are different ?
Acquiring competitor will lead to merger & acquisition and not diversification.
