It was one of those Perfect Storms: the right man at the right place at the right time giving a speech written by a man who found the right words because he met the right people to inspire him. It was certainly a great moment in history!

Today's youth who love Communism should listen to this.

I’ll never forget when I got to see East Berlin - before the wall was torn down. Like he said, there was no color. Only grays and black.

I stood on that very spot a few weeks ago. It still gives you chills. An interesting side note: East Berliners had a difficult time holding jobs on the western side after the fall of the wall because communism had sapped them of their work ethic.

I’ve watched many, many of Robinson’s interviews, but I wasn’t aware he had written that speech. I’m not surprised.

I stood on that very spot a few weeks ago. It still gives you chills. On a side note, after the fall of the wall East Berliners had a difficult time holding jobs on the western side because communism and socialism had sapped them of a strong work ethic. This is common knowledge among Germans.

We really need to talk about the Cold War more.

I wish journalism and political interviews were all more like this.
Informative, accurate and dignified.

Why is this speech called “infamous”? Who in the hell writes these titles? One of the great speeches in history.

Personally, Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, the top 3 of the greatest presidents in American history. Anyway, the democrats had nothing to do with the great history that the cold war was brought to an end.
