"God's ominipotence does not mean that he can do things which are logically impossible."

Am I the only one who reads that as "Miracles cannot occur?" Thanks WLC!!

WLC: not even really trying to make sense for over 20 years.

William Layne Craig makes my brain hurt so, so much. Believing that Yahweh would create you in sin just to punish you for said sin you we're created in is idiotic. i wouldn't even waste my time debating someone who is as far down the rabbit hole as he is.

I thought only the sins we commit in THIS life would decide our fate in the afterlife.

Obey his commands or else. This is god who does not want us to exercise free will. He's holding a gun to our heads and Craig is blaming the victim for his god pulling the trigger.

Craig's arguments haven't changed because it's good marketing : keep the message consistent. It's also good defence to repeat an assertion instead of admitting weakness -- especially when the assertions pretend to talk for an omniscient god.

Craig's last comment is one that most stokes my disdain for religion : the idea that simply refusing to worship a particular god is worthy of punishment is the root of all the horrors ever committed in the name of religion.

I reject God for the same reason I reject Santa. If I get coal every year for the rest of my life, then that's because Santa didn't give any reason to believe in him, and it's the same with God.

You would think if there was a god that he would at least give the apologists something new to work with.

I try not to do ad hominem but WLC just draws it out: he's gotta be the smarmiest, whiniest, most odious god-botherer who ever tried to tell an atheist what the atheist believes. Now, back to suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.

I always wonder how people can believe that some people will get an eternal torment after death without being depressed as fuck. It's like the most depressing idea you could even think of.

it's one thing to say you reject/hate someone, it's another to send someone to eternal torment. I'm looking at you God

If a woman enters a bar, someone tries to talk to her and she rejects him, that doesn't automatically equal hate.

Even then, if that guy decides to kidnap and torture her as punishment until she'll die of old age in his basement, she was right to reject him. Especially not if he told her beforehand.
Only in Craig's head, the rejection that's being perpetuated by the torture warrants more torture. And only in his head, when you put a weapon on somebody's head and tell him they're free to give you all their money or die, that's free will.

Just an opinion here... I love your channel, your editing style, your reasoning, your arguments... I think if you want to expand your channel and your audience you need to broaden your views and the spectrum of topics you discuss. I would love to see you take it a step further in any direction.

It is bad for a bird to end up in a cage. It is a lot worse for that bird to end up rosted. If "freedom" is a way of setting us up for Hell, then what's so good about it?

As a small child in the pentecostal church, I often prayed to have my free will removed. During the few moments I felt I was in righteous alignment I'd pray for death so that I could avoid hell.

How often did the fictional god of the Hebrews 'harden the heart' of the curiously unnamed pharaoh?
How often did the all knowing god mistake the heart for the brain?

Hey. I have some suggestions for videos / questions for you.

1. Opinions on the Penrose / Hameroff Orch OR model of consciousness?
2. Opinions on Josephus?

"If God is incorruptible and free, why can't he make us the same way" excellent point there.
Most theologians would believe that God is both omnipotent and omniscient (I'm not convinced it's possible to be both simultaneously but let's run with it)... Anyone who is omniscient has the future and past mapped out, and since God is unchanging - he surely is the least free out of us all. If one knew everything, then there is predetermination for that person, they already know what they are going to do and can't do anything else by definition.
Not watched past 1:30 yet but I think you may mention this based on the title haha

The infinite punishment comment at the end (made by someone who shall remain nameless) was nothing more than scare tactics. It shows that the nameless one is terrified of death and wants to gather together as many others as he can to his circle of fear so he can revel in the psychology of safety in numbers.
