At 8,750' above sea level, Guadalupe Peak is the highest mountain in Texas. Guadalupe Mountains National Park is also home to the most significant high-altitude forest in the state. Come with me and explore the trip to the peak, as well as Mckittrick Canyon and the park's ranching history.

That trail winds and winds, making you think you're almost to the peak... but then you turn the corner and find another peak hiding behind it! I remember that happened a few times before we actually reached the top, lol.

I hope to climb Guadalupe Peak in the not too distant future. Thanks Scott for another great video.

I’m a national park nerd, and I enjoyed this video as much as I did the others you’ve done! Keep it up and I’ll keep watching!

The overlook views are tremendous! I like seeing the old houses and imagining what it was like to live so close to Guadalupe Peak a hundred years ago. I really like this video. Thank you for making the trip and sharing it with us.

Loved the video. Been to west Texas and there are so many hidden gems. Guadalupe, Davis, and chisos mountains, even small towns like marfa and alpine. Cheers and thanks for the content

Great narrative and video. Some of those shots are breathtaking! I've been there once, and this video makes me want to go back.

Enjoyed the first hand experience feel for this kind of topic. It's nice to mix up the styles of vids a bit. The more storytelling style vids are the strength of your channel though, I think.

Very cool video Scott. You have a great ability to tell a thorough story while being brief. Photography was great, maybe some frame rate issue (maybe it's on my side). Did you manage to speak with the Wise About Texas podcast author?

Were you able to get to all these places in a single day, or did you camp overnight somewhere?

There's no curve. It's so flat.

Great video Scott! I’ve hiked Guadalupe Peak twice. The last time with Cord Bowen and Tom Diehl. Other interesting things about the Park - Pratt Cabin was designed by John Staub. And the mountains are the remnants of the Permian Sea. We found sea fossils at the summit. Looking out over the desert it’s possible to visualize the ancient seabed. Awesome place!
