Brain Flower is a status effect in Fear and Hunger that comes from the God of the Depths and the Thicket area and it causes you to lose accuracy. You can also find unique enemy sprites that have been infected with Brain Flower. These are the Guards, the Lord of Flies, Ragnvaldr the Outlander, the Mumbler, and the Night Lurch.

A few thoughts. In Termina states that the Brain Flower, when eaten, can restore mind, but its pollen will have a detrimental effect. Ragnvald, like Enki (by the way, just now noticed that the only two who perfectly understand what is happening in Termina are also the Tormented and Enlightened souls), is an expert... in all sorts of things. That is, it is likely that Ragnvald wanted to eat the flower to restore his mind, but he made a mistake that became fatal for him.

The first 3 are terrifying to think about because it does seem infected. The last ones just feel copy pasted on their sprite

Fun fact: If you're playing Terror Starvation or Hard Mode even as Rag, you'll still be able to meet... Erm, yourself's infected version in the thicket for some reason lmao

Funger Guard pogger doesn't exist, he can't hurt you.

Two things:

1) The infected Guard is a total pushover, he's got F&H HP even on T&S

2) when you use "Bloodlust", your character sprite gets a brain flower on their back/bum. Except the Girl who gets the flower on her head, which is just *insanely* cute. Girl slap with Bloodlust is in the 11-13 range, equivalent to Needle worm.

I think Lord of Flies has the most interesting transformation. You can really see how the flower reaches into his head, and how much pain it can truly cause by seeing the expression on his face

the mumbler is the most smt-esque enemy design in the game in that even censored its still not really censored
