One issue is landlords who refuse to let renters mount any window unit that sticks out of the window. (Or limited to specific months)
Certainly a great technological solution, but getting through the red tape and people "protecting their investments" at the cost of habitability is going to be a heck of a hurdle.

That's cool for vertically opening windows, sort of. You could get or make a custom fitted screen. Although i don't know how you would lock it. What horizontally opening windows would require to make these functional as windows make them fairly unreasonable.

As little complex as they are, they seem to fail awfully a lot. With added cost and chances of you like technology and can afford it without a stretch ($) sure. But it's still like paying for Model 3 in 2018. Ask me how I know.

Think about it...China is permitting the equivalent of 2 NEW Coal Power Plants PER WEEK, so in effect, we are pushing this tech so China/India can pollute more??
