"According to a source" That's genius even if you said it accidentally.

Honestly the name "Cosma The Invader Girl" is kind of an awesome title for a show.

Did you know?: the 2009 anime series full metal alchemists brotherhood has a lost animax English dub. People who seen the dub on animax claims that Edward had female voice and Alex Armstrong has a German accent. The dub was allegedly aired in the UK.

The fact that my boi Doraemon has a mostly lost English dub made by the same guys behind Arthur (hell yeah!) and Calliou (ughhhh) is fascinating!

This is a point that most people don't usually think about, but dubs are important for accessibility. If someone is visually impaired they rely on dubs to be able to enjoy anime.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the 80s, 90s and 2007 gegege no kitaro English dubs as they are considered lost

Turner had this habit of commissioning dubs of Japanese media and sitting on them. Their dubs of Ultraseven (also by Cinar) and the first Gatchaman were done around the same time as Albert and Sidney, but sat on the shelf for ten years.

Turner must have lost the rights to Doraemon earlier than the others. Which is sad; It would have been interesting to see it in the early days of Cartoon Network, before Toonami.

Its probably not lost but the Sgt Frog/Keroro Animax dub seems to have become hard to find when I remember it being fairly common online before Funimation got it

I saw the Cookie Jar logo you put on screen and was like "I remember that from somewhere!" So I looked it up and apparently they broadcasted multiple shows I watched when I was little
(However they apparently ceased broadcasting when I was 3, so no wonder my memories of it were fuzzy, but I 100% recognized the logo)

In a video by SailorGuardianHope, she mentioned in a video about lost dubs on My Melody’s Magical Adventure. She said that someone got in contact with Kuromi’s VA and they said that they did voice her but Omni Productions didn’t have any episode copies.
And that’s actually the latest breakthrough.
Also the Animax dubs are extremely rare as they were never released on Home Video and recordings are possibly scarce. So that’s why stuff like the Sugar Sugar Rune and My Melody’s Magical Adventure dubs are so hard to find.

One I'm severely disappointed we never got was the alternate Yu-gi-oh Zexal dub. Unlike 4kids/4K entertainment, the people behind this dub's pilot were aiming for a mostly faithful adaptation from the japanese version and got some big name anime voice actors to be in it like Johnny Young Bosh. While Zexal is not my favorite yu-gi-oh series i definitely enjoyed the japanese version a lot more than the 4k version (which in typical fashion made cuts/edits/script changes that don't feel necessary).

The pilot does exist, but I don't think it has ever been fully released. There is a small clip of it from a panel but i think that's all that anyone's found to this day.

About Cosma the Invader Girl only airing in Alaska: dubbed anime only airing on local stations in one American state actually has precedent: The BBC dub of the 90s Moomin anime actually aired on local UPN affiliates in Hawaii for a time, complete with a custom Hawaiian remix of the theme.

(I know I bring up Moomin a lot - it's just a series that's very interesting to me and one that I know a lot about. I like other anime outside of it, I promise).

Picked up Urusei Yatsura and marathoned its first 100-ish episodes last year (will resume when I get a better phone) so a certain aspect of Cosma’s localization took me by surprise... Anyway, I think there’s another rumored dub of the show from LATAM supposedly made in the 90’s whose existence is also unconfirmed (likely due to very limited airplay just like Cosma) so, while Doraemon will always be the king of this one specific topic, this series also has its fair share of lost/rumored media.

There might be a lost part of the tama and friends dub by 4kids. There's an advertisement that uses dubbed clips from one of the ovas but it's not known if the ova was ever officially released in English by 4kids. The series also never got a home media release so all that we have are vhs recordings. I think the last few seconds of episode 2 posted to YouTube might be missing as well because the video cuts out in the middle of a characters line but I havent had the time to sit down and hunt for another recording if one is out there.

I really love Magic Knight Rayearth; and funnily enough, the localized names for the first lost dub were actually re-localized for the LATAM dub. Which was made in Los Angeles.

Also that mini clip of the Asian dub of the Pharo from Yu-Gi-Oh is going to scar me for life ngl

Morgan Hallett is originally as a voice actress, working on 2 Cookie Jar cartoons: Adventures of the Little Koala and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Now, she is a broadway actress.

Andrea Kwan was also the voice of Sara Crewe in the English dub of "Princess Sara". As "A Little Princess" is one of my favorite books, I really am curious about how she voiced her.

Oh geez that Albert & Sidney jingle was way cuter than it has any right to be. 🥰 Also thanks to the algorithm for not showing this to me after hyping myself up over it for weeks. 🥲

Edit: You have both the turntables and the keyboard synth in Animal Crossing? I need those for my basement studio! >:(
