There are tons of videos on YouTube that will "teach you" how to renovate your lawn DIY style. They will show you how to kill your current lawn, scalp it down, dethatch your lawn, show you how to level your lawn with topsoil and how to get rid of weeds in your dead lawn and get rid of weeds and weed seeds in your topsoil. That is what is known to be the go-to guide to turning an ugly lawn into a great green lawn that will make everyone jealous.

But what if you cannot afford to go out and rent or buy a bunch of expensive equipment to get the job done? What if you are like me and you are on a budget and cannot follow every single step-by-step in-depth how-to guide on lawn renovations that exist on the webs or YouTubes?

That is where I come in. I want to know if I can pull off a cheap fall lawn renovation on a very tight budget. Will I fail? Who knows. Follow along to see the before and after of fixing or reviving your grass as beginners either with seed or following some lawn care nut and their tips or program.

I've been building my own "no brand" fert combinations and using them on my test lawn the past 2 years with great success. I'm guilty of jumping on the hype train a few years ago, but once I started really digging into turf management and talking to local extension offices I figured I knew enough to go on my own. Don't get me wrong I still use some of the flavor of the month stuff, and if others feel the same and want to use stuff that's convenient to order online, go ahead, its a free market and people are free to spend their $$$ where ever. I just find it more fun doing my own thing now. Another nice video Sir, I'm loving this new stuff you're putting out.

It’s hard to beat a good co-op. I discoverd one in my area (central Arkansas) last year. They carry a triple 13 with micronutrients that I use in the spring and fall and they have a 28-3-10 with 2%iron and 30%slow release N that I use in the growing season. Best of all, they are 50lb bags for $18.99.

What’s the plan for storage of all that product if you’re not going to be using large quantities of it at a time? I’m looking for suggestions, as I am in fertilizer blackout now and have product I need to keep so it doesn’t go to waste.

There ya go folks! No need to be buying super expensive ferts when you can get them locally most of the time. 45 mins for me to local Co-Op 50lbs bag of SOP 0-0-50 $30 bucks! I get it people are trying to make money off there products and add convenience of shopping online. What most don't get is there is a big markup and you are paying the shipping. By the time that 30$ bag get to your door it is now $60 for 45lbs. I'd rather put that $30 in my pocket minus the $10 in gas. Great Vid Paul! Keep it simple, #TRUTH! Peace and God's Love! Best lawn Youtuber ever!! Purchased online for two years. This year I've found a local supplier that sells 19-19-19 for $20 (50 lbs). Check your local landscape suppliers, they might just have what you've been buying online at a lower cost.
