This man went viral on TikTok for demonstrating the trend known as quiet quitting, where a person stays at the job but does the bare minimum to stay employed. Many workers are changing how they view employment. No longer are they willing to settle for being underpaid or dissatisfied with their work environment.

It's not called "quiet quitting" it's called "acting your wage". Quiet quitting is a term given to it by overly entitled employers who refuse to accept that employees aren't taking their BS any more.

I try do as little work as I possibly can, but just enough so I don't get fired. Why? Because my employer is trying to pay me as little as they can, but just enough so I won't quit. I act my wage.

This isn't "Quiet quitting." it's " Self Advocating" and him knowing his value, and if they weren't going to meet it or appreciate it, he's not going to deliver it.
More power to the guy! You can just feel that the HR lady on the other side of the phone almost spilled her goblet of blood she was so shocked!

It's not quiet quitting. It's called getting paid for fair market value under the median

It was weird. I had this HR lady who was a rare gem, in that she actually advocated for the well-being of the employer and the employees. I tried to thank her once for a time when she realized I was in what was supposed to be me getting fired because I was being bullied from all sides, like she figured it out and shut the meeting down on the spot, but she had no idea what I was talking about. Like, this lady thought it was so normal to try to help people succeed and champion the underdog that it didn’t even stick out in her mind.

I don't understand why this guy shows the actual video and then just repeats what we just saw in the video. And I don't understand why people are shocked when workers remind bosses that capitalism is a two-way street. The saying, "you get what you pay for" has been around forever.

Wow thanks for telling us exactly what we just saw! So useful!

omg I've been experiencing this! not being valued makes it hard to put in your best work. I've started lowing my work quality to match my pay

😮the fact that he has to Explain it to her makes me think she is getting paid more than she is worth.

This practice has always existed, the only difference is that people are posting it

"quiet quitting is a nonsense term made up by employers.

I don’t think the gig economy played as heavy a roll as the realization many people had. “This company doesn’t care about me.” I watched several of my friends parents lose their jobs after decades of loyal work, so their companies could make more.

Thanks for going over what he said word for word. I didn't hear it the first time when he said it.

You just recapped the video by literally repeating exactly what he said, but taking twice as long??
