The fact that Bill knows that Joel and Tess are in love with each other, and gave his town for them is really sad, because he doesn't know that they won't have a future there together, 'cause Tess is dead

joel's "if my uh- if *mine*" broke my heart a little... part of me wants to see joel and tess' history but i also think the subtle snippets of their relationship are very artfully done

Pedro is doing an amazing service to the character Joel. The range of emotion, mannerisms is spot on. He carries the guilt, sadness, anger of what happened to Sarah.

He’s cold and calculated but underneath those walls, is a father that misses his girl, misses being a father. To him, all hope was lost/gone with what happened to Sarah. If he was dangerous without hope/purpose…..imagine the strength and determination he has with Ellie.
