This video is a LIFESAVER! I have super thick hair that has like 3 waves in it and weird curly bits in the front so I want some consistency. You answered all of my questions, plus some! I am SO excited to set up a perm appointment now!

Also, you can refresh your hair every day by misting water over it in the shower or sink. You don't have to wash it with shampoo, just get it wet to add back moisture and to get your curl pattern back. Then add a lightweight conditioner. Water is moisture, so that makes a big difference. Curly hair looses moisture a lot quicker. Then let it air dry or hover a diffuser over it on low heat. Other than adding product, don't touch it with your hands until it is completely dry. That adds frizz.

Interesting how you said that you find it easier to style! I heard so many curly girls say curls are harder but honestly, its not easy to style straight hair either. As soon as hair salons are open again I will definitely get a perm! Cant wait!!

I just got a perm and love it. I did a loose curl. Only have to wash every 4 to 5 days. I like how you use only few products. I see a lot of videos that suggest multiple products. It can be overwhelming the choices that are out there. Thanks for video.

Just wanted to quickly mention that your roots dropped in volume also because your hair grows. It make sense for it to flatten because your new hair will be straight. I got a perm years back and I’m considering to get them done again. Thanks for the video.

Your hair looks great! Very healthy. I'm 47 years old, so I lived through big bar hair of the 80's and 90's. I've had several perms and I'm looking at videos, so my daughter can perm my hair in a couple weeks. I've noticed current you tubers are saying things like - don't highlight or colour hair and perm, but if your hair is as healthy as your's is it would actually benefit you because it would open cuticle a bit to help absorb perm solution. So, if you want real spirals or actual curly hair, I would perm it again now and the next perm will take. This perm did not take. If I was you I would have asked for a refund. It's too late now, but go to someone who gave perms in the 90's and they know what they are doing. Your hair texture now, is how mine is naturally and I call that straight. You don't need much product, just some argon oil and mousse. Scrunch it damp and air dry or quick wand of blow drier until damp dry. I'm guessing. This is frustrating because you barely have a wave, you were overcharged. Sorry

The trick with a diffuser is to first apply your products to protect your hair including your leave in conditioner. A styling cream or gel and a heat protectant. Then do not touch your hair with the diffuser. Hang your hair upside-down and hover the diffuser over your head. That will prevent frizz and help speed up air dry. Move your head around as you diffuse to help with volume and movement. Don't stay upside-down the whole time.

I had a perm as a kid (in the late 1960's) that was so tight and curly that over 2 years later I had to put a relaxer on it! It was HORRIBLE!! I brought a photo, but the stylist did not give me what I wanted...but thankfully I had tough hair back then. Now it's pretty thin but I'm tired of straight (stick straight!) hair that can be curled for hours and as soon as I go outside it goes straight...I want a wavy perm, , ,

Just wanted to let you know that I love your virgin hair! I'm not saying the perm looks bad or anything, I like it, just wanted you to know that I (and many of my friends) think the exact type of hair that you have is incredibly gorgeous, the silkiness and sleekness, the perfect straightness, the depth of the colour, the low porosity... Just ah, a dream of many of us Slavic girls! 😍 A lot of women with typical Slavic hair wish for our hair to be like yours, since ours is often "wrinkled" (neither wavy nor straight, with a big tendency to frizz) and of high or medium porosity.
Thanks for this video, very informative. 🙂

Loved your video!!! I gained so much insight. I FEEL YOU! Having asian straight hair, even a small amount of volume brings me happiness. I’m thinking about getting a perm and not quite sure if I will do it yet.

I’d love to know if you experienced damage to your hair at a level where you might not recommend a perm...
or if it even damaged your hair at all?
i was looking in the comments if someone had asked you, but I didn’t find anything.
Let me know. I’d really appreciate it!
