Thank you! Good starting point to further research.
I like ceiling cassette. In your opinion does the cassete moves the air efficiently in a large room?
I have both daikin and mitsubishi.
Daikin - 4 port unit, one wall mount unit had to be replaced within 3 years due to leak, otherwise i like it. Mitsubishi is 15k btu one to one wall mount with small outdoor unit, cools 20x50 area in less than an hour with fan set to only two bars :).
I would be interesting to know if a comparable ceiling cassete unit will be able to do that.

Was in the market for A Unico system but thinking ductless mini splits may be a better way for my home. Thank you for your video. I found it very informative and a solid jump off point for further research. sorry you don’t service where I live. I’ll be sure to check out your other videos.

I have been considering the mitsubishi for my house. I will need a unit that can have 4 inside units, but I see that some of the outside units have 2 fans, looking like it is 2 units stacked. Then there are some of the units that just have the one fan. Either one can have multiple inside units. Is there any advantage to the one that has 2 fans and is taller? For example, the MXZ-4C36NA3 compared to the MXZ-SM36NAMHZ.

I’m looking at Mitsubishi Trane mini split system to supply my garage and small basement.
24k in the garage. And 6k in the basement with 36k outdoor multi unit.
Installer said they can’t install the SZ fit ceiling cassette in my basement even though the basements not finished. No sheet rock there yet. They said they need access from above. So basically because the main level of my home is directly above the ceiling, they said they can’t install it even with 2 x 12 floor joist. Is this true? The installer only uses mitsu trane units.

I can't even install a light fixture in the house. Did a lot of research on duct/ductless heat pump system. Found your channel THE MOST helpful. Thank you.

Hi Jared. I have had 4 quotes for a ductless mini split in Vancouver, BC and no one recommends the ceiling cassette. What's the deal? Is this a Canada thing or an installer thing (harder to install?)? I dislike the look of the wall mount options and with our small duplex making it feel as big as possible is important. Seems like from my research that the dimensions fit for both the top floor (going into an attic, and will also fit on the first floor at only 185mm height and fit between joists. What am I missing here? Appreciate if you have any suggestions.

Can you use ceiling cassettes in a space where an attic isn’t available?. I’d like to put them in the downstairs in my small 2 story house but all the installs I’m seeing are put in ceilings that open to attic areas.

What would you recommend for climate zone 4a in Morganton, NC? Hyper Heat or Standard? In the video you said if you are above 5F you could go with standard and be fine. Does it come down to cost to purchase or does it also cost more to run hyper heat if you do not need it all the time?

At what point is a mini split not a mini split?

Wish I could fly you guys to Jamaica to do my installs. I have no desire to put the wall mounts, or central system.

mitsubishi is JUNK, weve had nothing but trouble from our mini splits, we have 3 outside units and 12 inside units, all under 5 years old. leaks, bad compressors, boards… all under warranty parts wise but labor and freon has been running several thousand ($5000ish)a year in repairs every year.
