Part of the reason Qantas has had such an impeccable safety record over the years is in the quality of their pilots. They are truly blessed with a team of seasoned, highly competent aviators.

Whole 8 years of flight time between the crew there. That's 8 years spent in the air, 24/7/365, a mind boggling amount of experience.

If you’ve never been on this plane, it’s absolutely, massive

Given the overall cost of a new plane, why the hell isn't every plane bristling with cameras that are available to the crew in the cockpit if they want to examine different areas of the plane in flight? It just seems ridiculous that the aircrew have to go into the passenger cabin to look at things that passengers can see but they can't.

This aircraft, VH-OQA, spent over 500 days in Singapore getting repaired. The repairs including having specialist equipment getting shipped from Airbus in France.
It returned to service in April 2012 and is still flying today.

I flew on this aircraft, as QF32 London to Singapore, shortly after it returned to service.

I fly QANTAS because I live in Australia, When i fly with them, safety is a major priority every time. I am proud of the skill which Qantas has enriched their pilot's with. This is evident to just how much Qantas tries to ensure safety and not competition

The captain's skills really did save this flight! It makes me cross though that Rolls Royce appeared to not quality check 13:05 the components / work on the engine during manufacture that led to this near disaster - I hope they paid all the repair costs and compensation to all parties! Incredible captain and pilots on this flight! :

While brake temperatures of over 900C were observed on the left main gear, it was discovered afterwards that the left wing gear brakes were completely inoperable, and temperatures were between 32C and 40C.

Skipper a beautiful job stopping the plane before the deadline. Lucky only one brake overheated. He lucked out there. Good work by alI.

My take on this: why would the oil leak be drilled differently from the rest of the planes? And here's me thinking Boeing were the only guys 'guilty' of such incompetence, but we now can see Airbus also has its faults.

The word "Hero" is somewhat over used at times but in the case it is very very fitting.

Listening to all details, the fact this plane die not blue up is mindblowing. Fire in the engine, peaces broke threw the tank, tank is leaking fuel, fire inside the tank, thats crazy😮
