I once attended Mass in Australia. I'll never forget the gentleman behind me: "Peace, mate!"

The beauty of course is that the Mass is the same in any language. Happy Trails Father C!

The great thing about both Ireland and Italy is that there's always a Mass going on somewhere nearby. As I found out by accident in Venice! Ended up going to Mass twice in one day

Reminds of a couple at church who went to Italy. They felt so out of place, confused, but when they went to mass on Sunday even though they didn't understand anything they were so happy to be somewhere where they still understood what was going on.

Have a great time and a blessed journey in Ireland Fr. Casey. My family and I live in Kildare. We love watching your content and learning.

I just went to a Spanish mass a few weeks ago, couldn't understand a word. Even as a new Catholic I followed along pretty well.

This happened to me in Japan. Pan Am Flight Attendant meets Kerry Priest. I giggled over his accent thru whole Mass. He had been there 35 years. A beautiful person.

As I reminded some 'TLM' only friends, the Mass is the Mass is the Mass. It is not the quality of the priest nor the language of the liturgy that is important but the very real presence of our Lord.

I'm Brazilian and last year spent one week in Ireland, it was so funny that the driver of the excursion spoke "booz" (not bus), the way... we "latins" would pronounce it.

I attended the mass in Poland while I was on sort of a trip. I am Croatian so I did understand a little but it was terribly difficult 😂

my parish is English, spanish and Tagalog! I slept trough the english masses and didnt have a car to drive to a different parish for another english mass so i went to the 5pm tagolog mass and the homily ended up being in English! I went up to my deacon after and asked if it was english for anyone else or if it was a total pentecost moment.

ha ha ha you poor thing! All Masses are the same and I am deaf; it makes no different in language but the visual parts are important to me.
