living in ireland, you get used to just having conversations where neither of you have the slightest idea what the other person is saying

My dear old Dad god bless him was this chaps twin, only a couple of us kids could decipher his Gaelic conversations except after a few shorts he was an alien, really miss his witty wisdom & joyous outlook on everything.

He's talking about 2 guys called Willie McAteer and Niall Quinn fighting at a local hotel. He then goes on to ask the fella in Gaelic if he speaks Gaelic. Then he says Crap! - All in all, an absolute legend 😂

Thats Rathmullan in Donegal, a lot of the older generation still speak their native tongue there, he speaks both Irish and English in this video, he’s absolutely pissed though.

When you live in a country where the accent is thicker than the government its hard to understand what you're saying yourself let alone anyone else

I'm a Pole that lived in Ireland for 12 years and returned to Poland but let me tell you, there isn't many a place where people are all around so open for a wee chat. It's hard to let go of because you'd even say hello to a stranger walking by you on the footpath while in Poland it ain't as common. It really makes you feel a part of the community. I miss ya Éire ❤

Being an American listening to this is like how my dog feels when people are having a conversation & he’s trying to find any word that he recognizes.

I thought I understood some of what he was saying, then someone pointed out he switched to Gaelic. And I was relieved because I thought I was having a fit. I definitely heard "Crap"!
