Class 1 from Car just passed, second try!

I got dropped in the deep end, instructor took me for a spin pulled into a lay-by, i jumped in and had to pull out on to a single carriage way in torrential rain.

Sounds like it was ABC/NORTHWEST TRAINING yard in Newton le willows? Pool table etc gone now and so has ABC

Class 1 is a waste of time right now as market flooded with car to C+E and the insurance companies have clamped down so companies don’t want class 1 drivers with no experience.

Can't stand all them car drivers with C+E licences.

A person goes into HGV role because they like it, and they have that necessary drive for it not because shortage showed common lot that we can make 40-50k yr.
You either have the skill to drive HGVs or don't, period.

Since mass handouts of CE licences and easy tests, it's appalling how many unqualified drivers are on the road who have no idea how to reverse a trailer onto a bay in a spacious and deserted yard. Don't even know how to park on services. It's so bad that even employment agencies want 1 year of experience, minimum some ask for 2-3 years.
