It's also worth noting that the spiky-eared Pichu is confirmed to be female so we know that Pichu has at least one confirmed female alt since there's no actual way to tell visually

The "Red Ribbon" can also be a reference to the Red Scarf item, at least in Ultimate. It's a hold item that increases your Pokémon's coolness factor in Pokémon Contests.

My favorite has always been the Spiky-Eared Pichu though. It's an awesome and subtle nod to a rare event Pokémon found in only one game.

Fun fact: In her original appearance in HG/SS, the Spiky-Eared Pichu is 100% female. This makes this Pichu costume the only one with a confirmed gender, much like how Pikachu costume 7 (Selene's hat) and Pika costume 8 (Pikachu Libre) are female, as confirmed by their tales. The rest of Pikachu's costumes are males.

For some people to believe anime canon events in the Pokémon universe. Based on the last costume of Pichu & Pikachu Libre, And the film Pikachu & Pichu, multiple Pichus could be in smash by wearing *canon* costumes as redesigned disguise resemblance.

I truly think pichu deserves more attention, he got some popularity in Gen 2 but I feel like was sorta pushed to the side

I always play Team Skull Pichu. I have a headcanon that he wants to be evil and cool like them, but his idea of villainous acts are things like unscrewing the cap on a salt shaker or tying someone's shoes together.
