My sister got pregnant in 1983. She was told she couldn't have children, so she didn't bother with protection. But she was married already. She never stopped her period during her pregnancy and a lot of her testing came back negative. She finally went for blood work at the hospital and it was positive.. she was pregnant. Some women never stop their periods when they're pregnant so you can't go by that.

My mom’s a nurse and she tells me this a lot…there can always be a false negative, but usually never a false positive

General tip for everyone: false negatives happen all the time, but false positives don't. If you even get one positive test amongst a dozen negatives, it's likely that the positive test is the correct one.
